Python Developer
Flexibility: Remote every day except 1 per month
Location: UK
Company: cititec

Work for one of Londons "Top 25 Start Ups" building out a completely Greenfield system to go at the very heart of the business. The software will be vital to both day-to-day operations and future ambitions and the role will see you become part of a growing technology startup helping to shape the future of energy.

As a Python Engineer you will work on designing, developing and maintaining software (typically providing services that offer an API for the tooling to interact with); Work closely with stakeholders, both internal and external, to rapidly deliver new services, enhancements and bug fixes. You will have the chance to get full insight into both the architecture / design as well as the programming of the system.

The teams are structured into cross-functional, self-organised and autonomous pods so you have all the benefits of working in a team composed of DevOps, Engineering and Security. Your work itself will not be restricted to one technology, you're able to commit across the stack and gain a view of all the features the team are working on.

Remote working will be an option, providing you can come on site every 6 - 8 weeks.

Key Skillset:

  • Have experience of working in Python
  • Have Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes expertise.
  • Be a strong advocate for software engineering best practice, taking pleasure from clean code, you have a predilection for TDD, and you're a fan of pairing.
  • Have strong design skills, be capable of conducting design reviews and be familiar with Cloud Patterns and the Microservices architectural style.
  • Be able to support software builds
  • Be keen to learn about the idiosyncrasies of the energy industry.
  • Be resourceful, and capable of going and figuring out a complex problem which may sometimes only be loosely defined.
  • Be able to learn new technologies rapidly, and be able to share that learning with others.
  • Be a strong team player who is able to collaborate across teams and departments.
